I am pleased with how our group teach presentation went. I am glad I had the opportunity to explore the topic of a multigenre research project and share my new-found interest with the rest of the class. I really feel I have a strong sense of how I want to incorporate this into my classroom.
The best part of the presentation was the participation of the class. We had a debate, had small group time to explore how to put a multigenre project together, had the groups present their project to the class, evaluate their own and evaluate another group, and created a functional unit plan that the class could use as a starting point to plan their own unit. I think the class asked some good questions and brought up good points, which we were able to answer well. It was easy to present our own information as well as answer questions because we were so well prepared and understood our topic.
The most difficult part of the project was determining how much time each of our sections would take. While we prepared adequately, classroom response and other factors effected the pacing. It's also more difficult to set pace when there are so many presenters.
I had a wonderful time collaborating with this group. Everyone was responsible and enthusiastic and the work we put into it really made the planning and presentation smooth and stress free.
It had been awhile since I did a presentation in this format, so it was nice to be reintroduced.
